Who is Farmer Brown?
The FFA motto: Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, Living to Serve. Add this to what was one of my Grandpa's favorite sayings: "You never really learn how to do something until you do it." That pretty much sizes up my teaching philosophy.
Hello my name is Randy Brown! After 40 years as a former school principal, coach, special education teacher, landscaping business owner, and agricultural science expert, I love sharing the gifts and blessings God has brought me in my life with children through hands-on learning.
It is my greatest joy!
My practical experience growing up on a farm, teaching vocational agriculture and working on our own cattle ranch and hobby farm has shown me the value of hard work and teaching my children and nine grandchildren the love of the great outdoors.
I'm so excited to have the chance to offer classes to your kids that will introduce them to the world of nature!
Each class I offer will be activity based with basic practical knowledge applied. They will have the opportunity to advance into higher level thinking skills and increase physical activity throughout the class.
We will be getting dirty, so come prepared!
Wow! Summer is REALLY HERE!!!!! And the way it is unfolding has caused me to put a pause on my classes. Swimming lessons would be the ticket but that is outside my area of expertise. Plus, I am a sinker and it would be difficult teaching the kids from below the surface! Lol!
The offerings for next spring/summer’s classes will be posted on my website beginning in January, 2025. I am adding a few more classes to the mix which I think will appeal to students with other interests as well. All will still be taught with an emphasis of hands on and learning by doing concepts.
